LeBron James

NBA is for sure the best basketball league of the world and the place where are playing some of the best players in the world. It makes that some of the players which are playing in Europe want to go to United States to grow up as a players and to play in the most spectacular league.

Today I want to talk about one of the players which are playing there. LeBron James was born in St Vincent- St Mary in 1984. The American player plays in the Cleveland Cavaliers, one recognized team of the NBA. This year he and his team are playing very well and they get the pass to the semi-finals of the play-off.

LeBron this year has been considered the MVP of the league and he has made most of the best plays in the NBA this season. This is his fifth year as a professional and little by little he ahs become the leader of the Cavaliers. He also took part in the Olympic Games of Beijing with the national team and he played very good. His statistics this season are excellent with 28 points per game and more than seven assists as well.

Personally I think that LeBron is one of best basketball players of the world and I'm sure that he will continue improving and making spectacular plays.

The first trophy

Yesterday night, in the stadium of Mestalla, Barcelona FC won the first trophy of the season, the "Copa Del Rey". The team defeated Athletic Club in a very exiting match.

The team from Euskadi scored firstly. But the Guardiola's team got the goal before the half time with a very strong shoot of Yaya Touré. During the second half, Barça played very well and they scored three more goals from the feet of Xavi, Bojan and Messi. The two teams played very well, but Barcelona at the moment is the best team of Europe and maybe of the world and Athletic Club couldn't do anything.

This was the first trophy with Guardiola's direction and everybody is very satisfied. At this time this team can get a record winning the three more important trophies of Europe for one Spanish team, the "Copa del Rey" , the league and the Champions league.

This weekend Barça will probably get the league and in less than two weeks they are going to play the final of the Champions league in Roma versus the Manchester United. If they won, it will be a very important record because they will be the first team to get this.

It must be said that Athletic's fans are very good and yesterday night they proved that they are very good losers and maybe the best funs of the league.

Barraques 2009

The last weekend I went to Figueres with my friends to one event which is called “Barraques”. We went there in Tuesday, Friday and Saturday night.

There we could drink some alcohol and listen to music because there were some concerts every day. We didn't like all the groups, but we enjoyed so much the event because we met a lot of friends and we could also go to fair which were behind “barraques”.

I think that this is a good form to go out with your friends and to enjoy the weekend because you always find a lot of people who you haven't seen since a lot of time and it's also a possibility to listen some of your favourite groups.

Decisive match in Nou Camp

This night, Barcelona will be the focus of attention of lots of people. This is because at 8 45 of night, F.C Barcelona is playing one of the most important matches of this season and it is against Chelsea. Barcelona's fans are very satisfied with their team because his game is maybe the best in the world at the moment, but Chelsea is one dangerous team and today Barcelona could have some problems to win the team from London.

At this moment, Guardiola's players are concentred in one hotel of Vallvidrieres concentring for the match. In the morning they have done a very soft preparation session because Guardiola wanted to prepare the last details of the match. Everyone in the team know that this night they should score some goals and that they can't receive anyone if they don't want to have more difficulties of normal in the next match which is going to be played in Stamford Bridge.

In my opinion, Barcelona at this moment is playing the best football in the world and maybe this team will win more trophies than the famous "Dream Team". But there's only one thing that I have clear, and it's that this night every Barcelona's player will do all of he cans to try to win the Chelsea and to prove that they are the best football team in Europe and maybe in the World.

Peter's barbecue

This weekend I've been in a barbecue which was celebrated in Vilatenim, next to Figueres. The barbecue was in Peter's grandpa's house. There I enjoyed a lot the weekend.

I arrived to Vilatenim Sunday morning. There were a lot of people as Albert, Peter, Guillem and some others, totally we were nineteen. In the house we played football, we ate meal and chips and we drove a lot the motorbikes. It was very funny and we enjoyed the time all together.

The weather was very good. It was sunny and there weren't any clouds and rain. The barbecue worked very well and we could eat all the meal that we bought. I'm sure that we will repeat it because all of us were very happy with the barbecue.

Some of us slept in the house, or maybe it's better to say that we passed the night in the house because we didn't sleep so much. The event was very funny and we enjoyed it so much.

The Castello parade

Castello became as one medieval town the last weekend. This is because in Castello celebrated the parade of Castello which is celebrated every year.

During the parade riders from a lot of different villages parade for the village and they follow the route that the town council has organized. Some people give them sweets and cookies with some for drink. A lot of people follow the parade and they make some photos. The priest blesses the horses and the riders when the route parade is in front of the cathedral.

I think that this is a nice form to pass the Sunday and that is good because the horses are in the habit of see a lot of people in the street. Personally I get bored the last Sunday during the parade because it-s very long and it-s always the same, but I think that is nice that the people could see the horses for the village.

The weather wasn’t very good because it was very windy but in general I enjoyed the parade with my friends.
The parade finished with one lunch and with a prizes present.

Formula 1 restarts

All of us remember how finished the last F-1 season which won Lewis Hamilton and where Fernando Alonso didn't get a good car until the end of the season.

Last week started the new season in Australia and we could see a very exciting race. From the beginning there were some accidents with the cars and safety car had to enter to the race very early. But we could see more passing maneuvers during that race than during all the last season. The winner weren't one of the favorites. Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello got the first and the second positions with the car of the new team which has replaced BAR Honda this year, Brawn-Mercedes. To complete the podium, Lewis Hamilton got the third position thanks to the elimination of Jarno Trulli which is a polemical decision like some others which favored Hamilton last season.

Fernando Alonso finished in one excellent fifth place and he was very satisfied with his result. He is convinced that this season his team is going to give him a good car to try to get the championship. Ferrari’s racers didn’t finish the race as some other pilots because of the accidents and the mechanical problems.

In general we could see an exciting beginning of the season and I'm sure that this season we will see one very different season with some new rules and with more emotion thanks of the teams which have improved their cars and now they will be able to compete for the win.

Strombers concert

Have you ever been in one Strombers concert? Last weekend I went in one which was celebrated in Castelló d’Empúries and I had a lot of fun. I think that it was one of my best experiences I have had. The concert was a really exciting event and I went to sleep at five o'clock.

Firstly, I was a little bit confused because Strombers should start at twelve o'clock and they started at two o'clock! Before them, played the hot penguins and some other groups that aren't much known, but they played good, I liked hot penguins.

But finally, the Strombers concert started and that was the best moment of the night. I danced and sang all the night and all of my friends and me enjoyed a lot the night.

So that's all, the only thing that I would say is that if you can ever go to one Strombers concert, go because they are a very good group and you will enjoy a lot.

Crisis in FC Barcelona?

The last days a lot of people have said that FC Barcelona is in crisis and some of them have dared to say that the Real Madrid will win the league. The question is, is it true? Is the FC Barcelona in fact in crisis? Well, I don’t think so and now I’m going to tell you what I think.

The team hasn’t won for five matches and the game of the team has become worse than normal, but I think that these things don’t mean that the team is in crisis. What I guess is that the players are a little bit tired and it’s normal, they are live in the three competitions that they play and they have been playing an excellent first round in the league. But Guardiola has been sharing the minutes well between the players and they shouldn’t be tired. Maybe they have relaxed a little bit because they had a very good an advantage until the second on the table, but they have relaxed too much. But nothing is worrying, they are in the final of the “ la Copa del Rey” and they even have four points of advantage to Real Madrid, so if this Saturday they play a good match against Atheltic Club, people will leave worrying.

So I think that they are conscious that they have relaxed too much and this Saturday Guardiola will pick his bests players and they will play a great match to sort out this crisis and to shut up the voices. I think that because FC Barcelona is the best football team and it is more than a club.

The league goes back!

After a large waiting time, this Sunday if the weather permits it I’m going to restart the horse-ball league after more than three months without playing. I’m impatient for Sunday but I’m very disappointed because as you can see, today the wind is blowing so hard and it means that tomorrow we are not going to can train well and on Sunday we will be a little bit detrained.

But it is not a problem because I’m anxious to play and I think that even tomorrow we won’t train well, on Sunday I will play as better I know, and I think that we will win. Our rival is a good team but I think that our team is better and I hope that we will be able to show it on the field. Our horses are very rested of don’t play since December and I think that my horse will run more than never because recently I realized that she is improving a lot.

So I’m anxious for Sunday and I’m sure that we will win the match. But the only thing that now worries me is the wind but I hope that on Sunday it will stop.

The end of course project

Hi there! Today I'm going to talk about one important thing in batxillerat, the "treball de recerca" or in English the end of course project. This project consists of doing one investigation about one topic and to explain in what it consists.

Firstly I was not very happy with this project because I didn't know what topic I could investigate about, but finally I've decided that is a good idea to do a project about one topic which can help me in a future. So I'm going to do my project about the evolution of the engineering of the aircrafts. I think that is a very interesting topic and I'm sure it will interests me a lot, but I don't think yet what is going to be the practical part of the project, because it has to have a theoretic part and a practical one. But I hope that the teacher who is going to direct my project could give me ideas to make it better.

I'm very impatient to start it and I think that I'm not going to can hope until summer to start so now I will start searching information and thinking about how can I improve it.

The Carnival

Today I'm going to talk about the carnival, a party which is celebrated in all the villages and where people bring very funny clothes. I think that this is a very interesting party so I’m going to explain a little bit better what it consists of.

Traditionally, in Christianity, carnival marked the last opportunity to celebrate and to eat special foods before Lent. The Lenten period of the Church calendar lasted six weeks directly before Easter. The forty days of Lent, recalling the biblical account of the forty days that Jesus spent in the wilderness, serve to mark an annual time of turning to God and religious discipline. In the days before Lent, all rich food and drink had to be disposed of. A giant party that involved everybody is thought to be the origin of Carnival.

Carnival is celebrated in a lot of countries like Germany, England, Brazil, and Portugal. This is a nice festivity where people can drink a lot, eat delicious food and dance with their friends.

Normally it has 2 parts: firstly the people go around the village on their floats bringing their fancy dresses; after that, they go to the dance where everybody is invited and where the party ends.

Frankenstein: the films vs. the book

I’ve read Frankenstein by Mary Shalley and then I’ve seen the film based in the book. There are some differences and now I’m going to tell some of them to you.

- In the film Justin’s mother appears and in the book she doesn’t.

- In the book Victor’s mother dies of an illness, in the film she dies guing birth to William.

- In the film Victor receives a diary form her mother but not in the book.- In the book appears Ernest, the youngest brother of the family but in the film he doesn’t.

- In the film Victor meets Henry from University but in the book they met during childhood.- In the book, Victor’s laboratory is in one island in the lake, and in the film it’s near the University.

- In the film the experiment is not totally secret because Victor’s teacher and Henry know about it, but in the book nobody knows anything.

- In the film there is an epidemic.-In the film, Felix’s grandchild is a boy and in the book is a girl.

- In the film one man asks Felix for money and then he hits him. After the monster saves Felix and they go into the house. This doesn’t happen in the book. In the book the monster saves a girl from the river and this doesn’t happen in the film.

- The photo on the chain, in the book is of Victor’s mother and in the film is a Victor’s photo.

- In the film Justine has to pass a trial and in the book it doesn’t happen.

- The monster kills Victor’s father before the honeymoon in the film but, in the book, Victor’s father dies of sadness when Victor tells that Elisabeth is dead to him.

- In the film the monster plucks out the Elisabeth’s heart but in the book the monster drowns her.

- The body that Victor uses to make the second monster in the film is from Elizabeth and in the book the body is unknown.- In the film the monster dies with Victor’s body and in the book he doesn’t die.

The English project

Today I'm going to talk about a very interesting topic, the English project in which we are included. Well Gemma as you know I don’t like the project but I’ve never told you why it is and I hope that after this post you’ll understand better my point of view.

In one hand, I agree with you in that during the real life all is not going to be grammar and listening because what you need more is to talk properly and to write, and I think that doing oral expositions is a good idea to practice.

But in other hand, I don’t like to make a blog and I think that is not a good idea to improve my English. It’s true that we need to practice the writing of course, but a blog is a boring and repetitive mode to do that. I think that people shows less interest in this subject because they think as I do, that making a blog is a very boring task and we don’t like it so much.

Another thing that I don’t agree is that in the mark, are more important the blog and the oral presentations that the exams, because maybe doing oral presentations and writing helps us to improve our English but the most important thing in all subjects are the exams because it’s the way that you can show if you’ve learnt what you must and gives you an idea about the level of comprehension of the language by the student.

I don’t think that this post is going to change your point of view about this project, but I hope that it has served to help you to understand why some of the students don’t like this project so much and that you can compare the point of views of the teacher and of the student.

Crackovia

Today I’m going to talk about one TV program which is very famous, I’m talking about Crackovia. This program is emitted on TV-3 on monday night and it is a humoristic program about the sports in Catalonia. The name comes from another famous program which is also a humoristic program that goes about politics.

In Crackovia every week appear the most important things that have happened the last days in the Catalonian sports. All the program is a joke but it’s very funny and some of the actors are very good representing their paper. In Crackovia you can see gags about FC Barcelona’s team, about Real Madrid's problems, you can see the Gasol brother’s as well and some interesting images about the RCD Espanyol. There appear some other characters like Rafa Nadal, Johann Cruyff and some others. Some of the gags are very good and if you watch the program it’s sure you’ll smile a lot.

I think that this is one of the programs that I like more and I think that is very interesting because you can smile and you can know some things about the sports that maybe you didn’t know before as well.

The NBA all-star

Today I'm going to talk about one very spectacular event that is celebrated every year in United States. I'm referring to the all-star of the NBA. Every year people vote for the best players of the year and they play one wonderful basketball match with a lot of incredible plays. Apart from that, this event also has a rookie’s match and some competitions of slam dunk and 3-point shooting for example.
During these days people from around the world can see the best basketball players of the world doing very spectacular things which they can do with the ball. Around this event there's also a big market because people spend a lot of money during this event.
This year the all-star was celebrated in Phoenix the last weekend and they participated a lot of Spanish players. The west won the principal match and Nate Robinson got the Slam dunk.

The facebook

Today I’m going to tell you something about the facebook. Facebook is one internet page where you can make a lot of friends.

In this page you can add photos, videos and you can speak with a lot of different people. You can also comment the photos of the other people. In this page you can have a lot of fun and if toy don’t like this things, you can play a lot of games. Apart from that you can also be fun of a lot of different groups and you can make some new groups.

I think that this page is a very interesting way to meet people and to smile with your friend’s photos. It’s very funny to see their photos because sometimes you can see very ridiculous photos. It can be a problem but if they add ridiculous photos about you.

In my opinion this page is very good idea to meet people and to have fun when you are bored in your house what happens to me sometimes.

Day in Bellaterra!

Yesterday I visited the "Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona" that is located in Bellaterra. We went the groups of 1st and 2nd of batxillerat. There we attended some talks about the different studies that we can do in that university. We arrived there at 10 o'clock and during 3 hours and a half we had two talks. After that we had lunch and we left at half past two. I enjoyed a lot the experience because I learnt a lot of things about the university, about the studies that I can do there and I saw how exciting the universitarian’s life is. That university was very big and it was very difficult to find the classes were we did the talk but finally we found them. I chose the "gestió aeronàutica’s" one and”the enginyeria mecànica’s" one. I learnt a lot of things but I think that I am not going to study there because I didn't liked so much the studies that they offer there. The next month we are going to go to another university in Girona and I hope that there I can find studies that I like more.
